Bloomingdale's, a subsidiary of Macy's, is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a new virtual store designed by Emperia that will go live during New York Fashion Week, which begins Sept. 9.

Bloomingdale's Chief Marketing Officer Frank Berman said: "Virtual showrooms in the Metaverse are the next stage in the evolution of the retail industry and offer customers an opportunity for engaging and immersive experiences that connect them with brands and our Connecting stores while also allowing us to understand what users are most interested in, in a way, getting into the metaverse is really just an extension of what Bloomingdale's has been doing for 150 years.
